August 2022 Edition: Showcasing the International Success of Rural Businesses.
In celebration of Black Business Month, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is partnering with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Invest Atlanta, Atlanta Office of the Mayor, Georgia Ports Authority, Metro Atlanta Chamber, U.S. Commercial Service, and UPS Women Exporters Program to provide U.S. Black-owned businesses information about the resources available to help them expand their markets internationally.
Throughout the past year, Black-owned businesses have faced many hardships such as lost revenue, temporary closures, reduced budgets, and diminished wages. Given those obstacles, small businesses can look for opportunities to sell their goods and services abroad, since only about 1% of U.S. businesses are exporting although 95% of consumers live outside the United States.
Please join Export Alabama, the Alabama International Trade Center, Alabama Department of Commerce, U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. for a webinar about export growth opportunities using financing. Alabama businesses are encouraged to register for this free event.
This webinar will introduce Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs) to the resources available to support international business growth. Guest speakers will cover the key points of international business planning, including various resources available to current and potential exporters. The session will include a brief description of export finance solutions for short-term transactions such as EXIM Bank's Working Capital Guarantee Program and Export Credit Insurance.
Building Bridges to Global Markets brings no-cost, in-person exporting expertise to your community. Addressing issues most common to businesses seeking international sales expansion, this event will introduce reliable contacts, accurate information, and ready-to-use resources that will place you firmly on the road to exporting success.
