Readout from EXIM Chairman Kimberly Reed's Meeting with Ambassador of Iraq to the United States Fareed Yasseen
Washington, D.C. - Today Kimberly A. Reed, president and chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), met with His Excellency Fareed Yasseen, ambassador of Iraq to the United States. Chairman Reed and Ambassador Yasseen talked about the role U.S. private enterprise can play in the redevelopment of Iraq, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, and energy projects. They also discussed increasing the level of participation by American small- and medium-sized enterprises in Iraq's rebuilding efforts, especially by businesses that are owned or operated by Iraqi-Americans and Iraqi expatriates living in the United States. The two officials agreed to continue to look for opportunities for collaboration in advancing Iraq's redevelopment.
