Washington, D.C. - Louisiana-based insurance broker J. Maxime Roy, Inc. has been named Broker of the Year by the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). J. Maxime Roy, Inc. will accept the award at EXIM’s 2018 Annual Conference, which is being held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., on April 19-20.
Working with EXIM for more than 20 years, J. Maxime Roy, Inc. is one of the longest-standing brokers of EXIM’s export credit insurance. Headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana (with associated offices in Houston and in New York City), the broker specializes in export credit insurance that helps American businesses to grow by enabling them to leverage foreign receivables as collateral for the capital needed to finance expansion.

Over the past five years, J. Maxime Roy, Inc. consistently has been among the top 12 EXIM brokers measured by both authorizations amount and count. In this period, J. Maxime Roy, Inc. brokered more than $425 million in EXIM insurance authorizations in support of exporters across the country.
In fiscal year 2017, J. Maxime Roy, Inc. was among the brokers that increased its count of EXIM authorizations. In 2017, 96 percent of EXIM insurance authorizations brokered by the firm supported U.S. small businesses.
In addition to its strong partnership with J. Maxime Roy, Inc., EXIM works closely with many other Louisiana firms. Over the past five years, EXIM provided $418 million in authorizations that supported approximately $800 million of exports sourced from more than 100 Louisiana exporters. Of those firms, 67 were small businesses, including eight minority-owned and six women-owned businesses.
