Export-Import Bank of the United States President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis Addresses World Strategic Forum in Miami

WASHINGTON – President and Chair of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Reta Jo Lewis concluded a successful visit to Miami yesterday, where she spoke at the International Economic Forum of the Americas’ World Strategic Forum 2022.

MeetingChair Lewis participated in a panel hosted by Madeline Pumariega, President of Miami Dade College called, “Economic Development and Women.” During the panel she emphasized EXIM’s dedication to supporting minority- and women-owned businesses, highlighting EXIM’s Office of Minority-, Women-, Veteran- and Disabled-Owned Businesses, which focuses on generating awareness of EXIM financing capabilities in those communities. During the conversation, which also featured Barbara Humpton, President and CEO of Siemens Corporation and Maya Martinez-Davis, President of GSK US, Chair Lewis outlined EXIM’s priority programs, including the Make More in America Initiative, which is designed to help bolster the domestic workforce and rebuild more resilient American supply chains.

While at the forum, Chair Lewis engaged in a conversation with a group of industry leaders, exporters and business organizations led by John Yearwood, Diversity and Culture Editorial Director at POLITICO. Chair Lewis highlighted EXIM’s commitment to addressing climate change and investing in energy solutions that lead to cleaner renewable energy innovations.

Chair Lewis returned to Miami after meeting with local business leaders and Miami-area businesses and exporters.
