Emelev is EXIM's New Broker of the Year
Washington, D.C. - Emelev, LLC (Emelev), a small, woman-owned firm headquartered in Park Ridge, Illinois, has been named New Broker of the Year by the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). Emelev will receive the broker award at EXIM’s 2019 Annual Conference being held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The awards will be presented at the luncheon today.
Established in 2018 by former EXIM trade finance specialist Ursula Wegrzynowicz, Emelev is an export-focused company providing trade finance, risk management, and advisory services to U.S. small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) seeking to grow through exporting. Emelev currently serves clients in Illinois and the surrounding states.
In the first eight months since becoming a registered EXIM broker, Emelev facilitated an impressive number of EXIM Express, multibuyer, and single-buyer policies. Nearly all of the insured businesses are new to EXIM.

“Many of my customers had been unable to access the private markets for a variety of reasons: small size of transaction, perceived industry risk, or unconventional payment terms. EXIM’s underwriters and regional staff have been tremendous to work with on range of transactions, some challenging. Already in our portfolio, EXIM has helped to grow and sustain a few hundred good-paying America jobs,” said Emelev Founder and President Ursula Wegrzynowicz.
Ms. Wegrzynowicz began her career at EXIM more than 20 years ago and then transitioned to the private sector where further she developed significant expertise in assisting SMEs. She was appointed by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez to serve on the Illinois District Export Council, and she also serves as a member of the board of directors of the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago.
