* Appointed by President Barack Obama as the U.S. Executive Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The EBRD is the largest single investor in central, eastern, and southern Europe and central Asia. The Bank recently added the Mediterranean countries of Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, and Jordan to its portfolio. 2009 - 2013 The United States is the largest shareholder in this bank whose principal focus is to develop private markets, establish corporate governance standards, and sound banking principles. The Bank’s strategy mobilizes significant foreign direct investment into its countries of operations, mainly in private enterprises, either through loans or equity. It provides financing for the financial sector and the real economy, both in new ventures and investments in existing companies. * Co-founder and Managing Partner of Hudson Leftwich & Davenport, a law firm with fifteen years of success in advising municipal, private, public infrastructure and real estate development ventures across the United States; Washington Counsel for four American cities: Detroit, Kansas City, New Orleans, and Oakland – and many other vital public-private partnerships.
* Counsel, Senior Advisor and Board Member on projects, including the Northeast Corridor Improvement program for Amtrak and ConRail and two of the largest projects in the Northeast United States -the redevelopment of Ronald Reagan and Dulles National Airports.
* Public Fiance Management Member: District of Columbia Financial Audit Committee charged with creating an internal audit management system for the District’s overall budget and proposing reforms to a best practices standard pursuant to Sarbanes-Oxley mandates – serving with former head of Internal Revenue Service, Sheldon Cohen. Also, the District of Columbia Tax Revision Commission charged with preparing reforms for the tax system of Washington, D.C. and service on corporate boards including, Carson Products and Altresco Financial.
* Chairman of the Finance Committee: National Capital Revitalization Corporation board, charged with oversight of D.C. public-private initiatives, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, member of finance committee - overseeing the National Capital region’s two national airports.
* Civic Leader: Board Chairman of Morehouse College Trustees, WETA Public Television Board of Directors, Smithsonian Museum of African Art Board Directors, National Mentoring Partnership Board of Directors (formerly Oneto- One), and Georgetown Day School Board member.
