The USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Initiative — in collaboration with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE Mentors, Small Business Development Centers, and Veteran Business Outreach Centers — invites you to “The Business of Farming,” a hybrid workshop series being held both virtually and in-person in three California regions.

The consecutive half-day workshops will build on each other and are intended as a complete business series. Topics will include:

  • Starting your business and developing a business plan.
  • Financial resources for strengthening and growing your business.
  • Resources for importing or exporting agricultural goods and services, including a November 17 panel that will feature an EXIM presentation about export finance resources.

These free workshops are tailored to California farmers, ranchers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners to support them in building a solid business foundation. The events are open to the public, and you can attend in-person or online.
